Overview

The Namobuddha hiking of 1 day begins with a convenient pick-up from one of three locations in the Kathmandu Valley—Bhaktapur, Lalitpur (Patan), or Kathmandu. After being picked up, you’ll embark on a scenic 1-hour car ride toward Namobuddha Monastery, a sacred Buddhist pilgrimage site atop a hill. Along the way, you’ll pass through lush greenery and charming villages and have distant views of the majestic Himalayan peaks. Reaching the monastery, this great reverent place’s serenity and spiritual aura will engulf.

You will be given ample time at Namobuddha to roam around the monastery with a guided tour and an explanation of its rich history and importance. You will take pictures of the beauty around you and enjoy panoramic views of Kathmandu Valley. A short hike or walk around the area will offer an opportunity to appreciate the natural beauty further. After spending around five hours at the monastery, you’ll be dropped off at your chosen location—Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, or Kathmandu—reflecting on the peaceful and enriching experience.

Pick-up Locations:

There are three options to start your tour: Choose from the three Kathmandu Valley locations.

  • Bhaktapur: A historic city known for its ancient temples and squares.
  • Lalitpur: Also known as Patan, a city with a rich cultural heritage and beautiful architecture.
  • Kathmandu: The capital city, accessible from anywhere in the valley.

Car Ride:

Once you are picked up, you’ll head off on a breathtaking one-hour car ride toward Namobuddha Monastery. This monastery rests on a hilltop and provides stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area. You get to see the countryside: lush greenery, villages, and glimpses of the Himalayas further away.

Stop at Namobuddha Monastery:

The Namobuddha monastery is among the holiest sites of Buddhist pilgrimage in Nepal. You can take a break to rest in the serene atmosphere. Later, there will be a photo stop where you can capture great shots of the monastery and its surroundings, along with the scenic views of Kathmandu Valley. With us, the monastery is visited, and insights into history and importance are gained through a guided tour by using the service of a competent local guide. You can have an overview of the architectural features and the beautiful scenery of the environs, hills, and valleys.

A short walk or hike around the area will allow you to experience a peaceful environment while enjoying the natural beauty. You will have around five hours to spend at Namobuddha, which will allow you plenty of time to think, take pictures, and soak in the spiritual tranquillity of this hallowed location.

Drop-Off Locations:
