The Helambu Trek is a moderate trekking route located in the Langtang region of Nepal, just north of Kathmandu. Spanning an altitude range of 800 to 3,650 meters, this trek is a symphony of nature’s wonders and cultural marvels. Itinerary

After you arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be welcomed by our guide at the arrival area. After that, you will be taken to the hotel for the check, and you will relax there for some time, as you have to wander around the Kathmandu valley and see its nightlife. We will take you to the central tourist hub of Kathmandu, Thamel. There you can indulge in different Nepalese cuisines. You can exchange your money for Nepali currencies and stroll around the Thamel area. After that, we go back to the hotel after the tour. When we reach the hotel, you will be briefed about the trek.

We will take you to the historical and heritage tour of Kathmandu valley after having a delicious breakfast. You will visit the Hindu Temple Pashupatinath. It is considered as the most important Shiva temple in Nepal. After that you will visit the Boudhanath which is considered as the biggest Buddhist Stupa in the world which lies in the middle of a beautiful square.

After taking breakfast we drive through the highways of Trishuil valley. You will witness nice scenery of white snowcapped mountains like Mt.Annapurna, Manasalu, and other peaks through the route. You can enjoy the Himalayan views and mountainous lifestyle through the Trishulli Bazar and Dhunche. This journey takes you about 7 to 8 hours of driving. You can stay overnight in Syabarubesi.

After taking a full breakfast we start to trek which takes two hours through the forest. Then we reach the bamboo village where we can stop for lunch. We can take look at the forested path with the view of birds and bushes. We stay overnight at Lama hotel.

We start our trek with breakfast at the hotel.  We can see the beautiful dense rhododendron forest. Then we enter the Langtang valley through Ghoda Tabela.  We can see prayer flags in every house go through and the cold breeze of air passing through our faces will be mesmerizing. The Langtang valley is located just below the massive Langtang glacier. You will be staying overnight at the lodge.

From the Langtang valley, we take the route that takes us to Kyanjing Gompa. We can see the largest Mani wall. Slowly, we reach to the Kyanjin village, where the remarkable Kyanjin Gompa is located. You will stay overnight at the lodge.

We rest at kyanjin Gompa and explore the area. We visit the monastery and the cheese factory where the cheese is made from Yak. We can see the spectacular ice and the glaciers. The highest point of this trek is KyanjinRi (4350m) and TsekoRi (5000m). after all the exploration is done, we spend our night in Kyanjin.

As we visit, the monastery we start to trek down to the lama hotel. We can see the spectacular terrace land and the rhododendron forest. We cross through many wooden bridges which is very adventurous. We climb down to the Lama hotel and stay overnight there.

This trail leads you through bamboo and rhododendron forests where we can see many wild boars as well as other animals and birds on the route to ThuloSyabru. We can see the mountains as if they were just a hand away. We trek down through the river bank and get to the thuloSyabru village. We stay overnight in Thulo Syabru village.

The trails lead us through the breathtaking view of Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal, and Tibetan mountains. This trail leads you through a steep forest of oak and hemlock and also through the rhododendron forest. We can see many local cheese factories and monasteries. You will have to stay overnight in a tea house.

You will get to enjoy the full panoramic view of the Himalayan range of mountains Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh, and Langtang.  We walk for most of the day and reach the magical Gosaikunda lake which is 4380m high. This lake is of cultural significance for Nepalese. The lake is surrounded by mountains on all sides. Every year during Janai Purnima Many Hindu pilgrims visit this lake and take a holy bath in it. There is a Shiva shrine at the center of the lake. You stay overnight in the Gosainkunda area.

We take the last glimpse of the lake before ascending down towards the Lauribina pass. The Helambu region begins at the Lauribina La pass and descends to the Melamchi Valley. We pass through many small lakes before reaching the pass. We enjoy the view of the area as we pass the trails. We stay overnight in Ghote.

We take an uphill and downhill on the trail passing via dense forests. The trail takes us through the forest that will take us to the TharePati Village. We Climb a ridge above the village and continue our trek. We can stay overnight there.

The journey from Tadepati to Tarke Ghyang is a full exploration of the Helambu region. The trail takes us to the magnificent Sherpa village of TarkeGhyang. We can discover the monasteries and the village once we are in TarkeGhyang. It’s a place where there is a mixture of culture and spirituality.

Sermanthang is a village that is rich in a culture full of natural wonders surrounding it. It takes about 5 hours to reach us to Sermanthang. Along the trail, we pass through many other villages which are rich in Sherpa culture. We also walk through the forest area along the trail before reaching Sermanthang for an overnight stay.

We trek to the Melamchi bazaar on the final day of our trek. We trek down past many villages with their traditional cultures. We can see the terrace framing in this area. Once we reach Melamchipul Bazar, we will stop for the lunch before setting off on a drive back to Kathmandu. It takes us about four hours of drive to reach Kathmandu.

We hope the trek was wonderful. We will have your farewell dinner. We will drive you to the airport for the departure flight.
