Overview

The Luxury Everest Helicopter Trek & Gokyo Lakes Experience – 5 Nights 6 Days is a premium Himalayan trip that combines a guided trek through the Khumbu region with a helicopter return from the Everest region to Kathmandu. The trip works in three parts: a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, a trek through Phakding, Namche Bazaar, and the Gokyo Valley to the turquoise Gokyo Lakes, and a helicopter flight back to Kathmandu over the Himalayas. The whole heli-trek runs 5 nights and 6 days, with luxury lodges on the ground and a helicopter finale in the air.
This luxury heli-trek gives three main benefits: it pairs a real trek with a helicopter return that cuts days off the descent, it places the Gokyo Lakes and Gokyo Ri sunrise on the route, and it adds premium lodges and private service through the Everest region. The trip serves three main uses: a bucket-list Everest experience for travelers who want comfort, a Gokyo Lakes adventure for photographers, and a heli-assisted route for trekkers short on time. The main parts of the trip are the Lukla flight, the guided trek with porters, the Gokyo Lakes visit, the luxury lodge accommodation, the meals and permits, and the helicopter return to Kathmandu.

Itinerary

Day 1 covers arrival in Kathmandu, the airport transfer, and a trek briefing at the hotel. The guide checks gear, confirms permits, and reviews the route. Overnight at a luxury hotel in Kathmandu (1,400 m / 4,390 ft).

Location: Kathmandu
Altitude Different: 1400 m

Day 2 starts with the morning flight to Lukla, then a 3 to 4 hour trek down to Phakding (2,610 m / 8,563 ft). The trail follows the Dudh Koshi river past Sherpa villages and suspension bridges. Overnight at a premium lodge in Phakding.

Day 3 treks 5 to 6 hours from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m / 11,286 ft), the main trading town of the Khumbu region. The climb to Namche gains over 800 m, so the pace stays slow for acclimatization. Overnight at a luxury lodge in Namche.

Day 4 treks toward the Gokyo Valley, with an acclimatization plan that splits the climb across staged stops at Dole and Machermo. A direct Namche-to-Gokyo push in one day is not safe at this altitude, so the route adds a rest stop before the lakes. Overnight at a lodge in the Gokyo Valley (around 4,470 m / 14,665 ft).

Day 5 explores the Gokyo Lakes and climbs Gokyo Ri (5,357 m / 17,575 ft) for a sunrise view of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu. The day adds a scenic helicopter experience over the Ngozumpa Glacier and the Gokyo lakes chain. Overnight at a lodge in the Gokyo Valley.

Day 6 returns to Kathmandu by helicopter from the Gokyo Valley, with an aerial view of the Everest region on the way. The flight takes about 1 hour and lands at the domestic terminal for the hotel transfer. The trip ends with a drop-off at your Kathmandu hotel.
