Poon Hill hot spring trek could be a comparatively simple walk wandering villages and rhododendron forests. This energizing trek reveals many of the best views of the Himalayas and is considered the best in the Annapurna region. Reaching a maximum altitude of 3210m, completing this trek will be comfortable for everyone with their physical fitness. The trek begins from Nayapool village, which we might reach after a short drive from Pokhara. Walking towards Bhuringdikhola, you may cross some towns with their mixed cultures, lifestyle, and traditions.

While you’ll have an opportunity to visualize the massive South Annapurna (7119m) from Ulleri village, travel along to Ghorepani, and marvel at colorful orchids, rhododendron forest, and Himalayan bamboo. The tour begins f om Nayapul village. Also, we reach Nayapul via a short drive from Pokhara.

Walking towards Bhurungdikhola, you will cross some villages with their mixed cultures, lifestyle, and traditions. The first-day walls are comparatively moderate because we will walk nearby roads up Tikhedhunga. From Tikhedhunga o Ulleri, some stairs are more than one and a half hours up the hill.

Rugged Trails is Skipping Tikhedhunga because there is no mountain view. But, from Ulleri, we can see Annapurna South and beautiful landscapes. We can see the Majestic views of Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, Tukuche peak, Annapurna south, and Himchuli. Also, it offers views of Fishtail, Lamjung Himal, Annapurna IV, III, and Dhampus Peak. Thus, Ghorepani P on the hill is the best viewpoint of breathtaking panoramic Mountain views from the lower elevation.

Itinerary

Early in the morning, after having breakfast, you will start a scenic drive to the beautiful city of Pokhara and then transfer to your hotel.  Afternoon, if time permits, boating in Phewa Lake, visiting Barahi temple situated in the Center of Phewa Lake, and taking a side trip around the lakeside.

After breakfast early in the morning, with a one-hour drive to Nayapul, you will start your trek to Tikedhunga. At a 30minutes walk from Nayapul, you will reach Birethati; here, you have to show your trekking permit and TIMS to the National Park Office. After a short stop, the trail slightly goes Tikedhunga via Burundi Khola, the village of Sudame, Mathathati Hille, and finally crosses many beautifully settled hamlets and reaches Tikedhunga.

A gentle climb through pasture and cultivated Barley and Millet fields; as you climb up, you walk beside the cascading stream through refreshed, entirely excellent oak and rhododendron forest. You’ll have a decent view of Annapurna South from Ulleri.

We will start our day with an early morning one-hour hike to Poon hill for the amazing sunrise view. From here, we will have sunrise and an outstanding view of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, Machapuchre (Fish-Tail Mountain), Himchuli, Nilgiri, and South Annapurna. Back to the guesthouse for breakfast. Then we will walk for five and a half hours to achieve the terrific village of Tadapani. Overnight at a guesthouse.

After morning breakfast, the trail goes downhill to Kim, rung Khola through the dense forest of Rhododendron, and watch the miraculous vista of Annapurna south, Annapurna IV, and Machhapuchchhre. From Kim rung Khola, the trail slightly goes uphill to Gurung village of Chhomrung (2050m). Overnight at lodge.

After breakfast, the trail leads you downhill for about three hours to the new bridge and a small break for tea/coffee or cold drinks. The course slightly goes uphill to Landruk village with Lunch stops. After lunch in Landruk village, walk to Tolka for about an hour overnight at the lodge.
