The Trail to Cholatse Peak Climbing
Cholatse Peak Climbing is probably the longest peak climbing in Nepal. With more time comes more variation of trails, more fun, and more memories. Taking you deep into the valley of the Everest Region, you have a lot to witness during these 22 days. The trek starts as you take a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla.
Reaching Lukla, it will take another 2 days before you reach Namche Bazaar. Moreover, leaving the Everest Base Camp Trail we will move towards Dole and then to Gokyo, after an acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar. Another day of acclimatization comes in Gokyo, which will be around day 9.
From Gokyo, you move on to the Cho-La Pass leading you to Dzongla. From there Cholatse Base Camp is just a day away. With a day whole for Cholatse Peak Climb, after conquering the peak you start your descent. Through Pangboche and then to Namche Bazaar in just two days. From here you will trek back to Lukla and taking a flight back to Kathmandu marking the end of your journey.
Where does Cholatse Peak Lie?
Cholatse Peak Climbing, like most of the Everest Region mountain climbing, is an exquisite trip to the Himalayas of Nepal. You will also explore other high viewpoints in the Khumbu Region, such as Cho-La Pass.

Cholatse Peak Climbing starts when you arrive in Kathmandu City. First, you can relax, explore the city’s famous cultural heritage sites, and prepare for the trek. Your journey starts with a scenic flight to Lukla.
Once you enter the mountain region, your trekking adventure begins. You will acclimatize once we get to the renowned Namche Bazaar. The trail then leads to Gokyo Ri through Gokyo Valley, where you will see many astounding lakes. Throughout the journey, you will experience the cultural influence of Nepal and its natural beauty.

We will greet you at the Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu on your first trip day. Our team heartily welcomes you to our beautiful country. After a short introduction with our team members, we will drop you at your comfy hotel, where you’ll spend the night.

The next day, we will take you sightseeing in the Kathmandu Valley. We will only be able to cover the major tourist attractions sights. The next day, after resting for the night, you’ll have an early flight to Lukla, which takes around 40 minutes to reach. Moreover, you’ll encounter a stunning sight of the mountain region of Nepal on your way.
After the safe and adventurous flight, we’ll begin our trek to Phakding, coming across many local villages with spectacular views of the highest peaks. We’ll be staying for the night in Phakding, enjoying the mountain civilizations and the delicacy of delicious Nepali food.

After a refreshing breakfast, we’ll begin our trek to the famous Namche Bazaar the following sunrise. Although we will start our walk on a flat surface, we will gradually trek the uphill valley, followed by a downhill. Then, we’ll walk along the path through lovely pine forests and the Dudh Koshi river to Monjo Village.
Here, we’ll see Mt. Everest’s gorgeous, frosty scenery from a distance once we climb Namche Bazaar. We’ll spend the night and relax after a long tiring day.

This rest day will allow you to acclimate to the altitude of the capital of the Khumbu region, Namche Bazaar. Hence, hiking in the same area in a place like Khumjung or a two-hour climb to the Everest View Hotel (3880 m) would be an excellent beginning to adapt your body to a higher altitude.
Similarly, you’ll find many fellow tourists and can shop for unique souvenirs like pashmina, wool, and handmade accessories. You can even visit the Sherpa Culture Museum, where you can explore the cultural significance of people living in the region along with the famous Sherpa mountaineering history.

We will start trekking toward Dole the following day after a refreshing breakfast. The trail starts from an easy walk to Sansa, leading up to Mang-La Pass. You will see Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt.Nuptse, Mt. Ama Dablam, and many more throughout the route taking you to Dole.

After climbing over 4,700 meters, you need to rest and let your body adapt to the altitude and climate. We will stay in Gokyo for the day and explore the area. You can also connect with the nearby villagers and learn about their cultures.

We will trek toward the other side of the mountain, early in the morning, after breakfast. Passing through the Ngazumpa Glacier, we will reach Thagnak. Today, our trek will be cut short, and we will have a whole afternoon to rest and acclimatize.

Our trek is going to get very challenging at this point. The trail is steeper, and difficulties come along with it. When we arrive at the top of Cho La pass, we can see many prayer flags and a frozen lake. We can see Mt. Ama Dablam towards the south range of mountains.
Crossing through crevasses, we will reach Dzong Village, where we can see the astounding views of Mt. Cholatse, Ama Dablam, and Lobuche mountains, as well as Pheriche Village.

We will climb to Cholatse Base Camp today. The adventure keeps getting more exciting as we get close to the destination. The views of beautiful mountains get better and more precise as we walk through rocky trails. Once we reach the Base Camp, we will set up our tent and rest for the night.

The climbing period needs many things to be considered for your safety and health. You could have altitude sickness if we rush into it. So, we will get familiar with the environment and stay in the base camp for a few days. When the Sherpas decide you are ready and the weather is clear, you will finally summit the peak.

After your successful climb, the returning journey begins. We will move toward Pangboche from Cholatse Base Camp. The trail is descending, and we will reach Pangboche Village within 4 hours.

Next, the trail then descends to Lukla, where we will reach observing the Dudh Koshi river. Then, we will pass through a dense forest, experiencing more flora and fauna and crossing several villages. Finally, we’ll celebrate our successful climb to Pokalde Peak. This day marks your victorious mountain climb along with your trekking team members.

After spending the victorious night the next day, you’ll return to Kathmandu on the 20th day of your trek. Again, after around 40 minutes of a flight back to Kathmandu, you’ll arrive at your comfortable hotel, where you can relax for the day or take a quick nap.
Similarly, you can also take your time to explore the city on the last day. We’ll have a goodbye dinner at night with the whole trekking group.
